2020 Iran gasoline export to Venezuela
... that the Iranian oil tankers carrying Iranian gasoline to Venezuela were escorted by the Venezuelan navy?[1][2]
- Reviewed: Wilson Armistead
Created by Mhhossein (talk). Self-nominated at 21:25, 4 June 2020 (UTC).
- The page is tagged with a move request. Meanwhile, there is no QPQ and the hook has too much repetition in it ("Iranian"..."Iranian"...""Venezuela"..."Venezuelan"). Yoninah (talk) 20:46, 22 June 2020 (UTC)
- Yoninah: Thanks for the review. You're clearly right with regard to the repetition. As for the move, we should wait for the result. But, meanwhile, what happens if the article is moved and filled with more general materials? --Mhhossein talk 13:06, 23 June 2020 (UTC)
- @Mhhossein: you can always suggest a new hook based on additional material. If the page is moved, please don't move this template; I'll take care of the re-formatting. Thanks, Yoninah (talk) 13:12, 23 June 2020 (UTC)
- @Yoninah: Ok I will not touch it. --Mhhossein talk 13:38, 23 June 2020 (UTC)
- The move discussion has closed with no consensus. We can continue. Please provide a QPQ and new hook wording. Yoninah (talk) 22:52, 11 July 2020 (UTC)
- Yoninah: How about the following:
- ALT1:
... that the Iranian oil tankers carrying gasoline from Iran to Venezuela were escorted by the country's navy?[3] - -- Mhhossein talk 07:15, 12 July 2020 (UTC)
- I looked at the article in order to suggest a better hook and found a lot of editorial issues there. I edited the article for English grammar and also added numerous tags calling for elucidation of the text. There is also the matter of 5 tankers being mentioned in the lead but the arrivals of only 4 described in the article. Please take care of these issues, including a dead link, and then we can work on a better hook. Thanks, Yoninah (talk) 11:06, 12 July 2020 (UTC)
-
- I will do them withing the coming days. --Mhhossein talk 13:02, 16 July 2020 (UTC)
- @Mhhossein:, is there a QPQ yet? This nomination is over seven weeks old now. It should not take that long! Flibirigit (talk) 15:31, 28 July 2020 (UTC)
- QPQ credit showed up only after I made the comment above. Flibirigit (talk) 15:33, 28 July 2020 (UTC)
- OK, we need to finish this up NOW. Mhhossein, there are still tags for citations and a dead link in the article. If you want to continue this nomination, please fix them up ASAP. There is still no mention of the third tanker in the body of the article (under Gasoline export). I have struck the hooks because ALT0 has too much repetition and in ALT2 it's not clear which
country's navy
you're talking about. Please respond by the end of this week or this nomination will be closed as stale. Thank you, Yoninah (talk) 18:13, 28 July 2020 (UTC)

- Yoninah: I have made some changes. There's a clarification tag besides 0.5 US dollars. What kind of clarification is required? Thanks. --Mhhossein talk 14:22, 29 July 2020 (UTC)
- @Mhhossein: what does
0,5 US dollars
mean? We usually write dollar figures as$5 million
or the like. Yoninah (talk) 14:25, 29 July 2020 (UTC)

- ALT2:
... that the Iranian oil tankers exporting gasoline to Venezuela were escorted by the Venezuelan's navy?--Mhhossein talk 14:50, 29 July 2020 (UTC) - Flibirigit But the QPQ was provided one day before your comment. Anyway, it'a already done and thanks for your concern. --Mhhossein talk 14:55, 29 July 2020 (UTC)

- @Yoninah: It seems hooky to me since the escorting came after U.S. raised concern over the shipments. I have now suggested a different hook:
- ALT3:
... that the Iranian oil tankers exporting gasoline to Venezuela were escorted by the Venezuelan's navy, after U.S. talked about responding to the shipments?[4][5] - --Mhhossein talk 07:22, 31 July 2020 (UTC)
- ALT4: ... that Venezuelan president Nicolás Maduro tweeted "Thanks Iran" after the Persian Gulf state sent the first of six oil tankers to aid Venezuela's chronic fuel shortage? Yoninah (talk) 08:29, 31 July 2020 (UTC)
- Approving ALT4, new enough, long enough, neutral, QPQ done, hooky enough, but copyvio tool brings two sentences they need to be resolved. ~~ CAPTAIN MEDUSAtalk 11:12, 2 August 2020 (UTC)
- @Mhhossein: please take care of the close paraphrasing.
