Disappearance of Marilyn Bergeron

[edit]
  • ... that before a distraught Marilyn Bergeron disappeared ten years ago today, a friend says she told him what was bothering her was worse than witnessing a murder or being raped, but wouldn't say what? "Quebec woman missing since 2008: reports of 43 possible sightings since February", CTV News, November 10, 2017. "She cried and she told me something had happened," he said. "She couldn't tell me, she wouldn't tell me. I asked her whether she had been raped or something like that and all of her answers were, "No, it's worse, it's worse."'Gauthier said he then asked her whether she'd witnessed a murder and that she replied, 'No, it's worse. You just can't imagine what happened.'"

  • Comment: As is the case with so many of these other missing-person articles I've worked on, I have a specific date in mind: February 17, the ten-year anniversary.

  • New enough, long enough, neutrally written, well referenced, no close paraphrasing seen in online English-language sources. Hook ref verified and cited inline. However, we don't know if what she said was true; this is what a friend told the media. Do you want to add "reportedly told a friend" or "a friend claimed she told him"? Subject image in article is fair use. QPQ done. Yoninah (talk) 21:16, 10 February 2018 (UTC)
@Yoninah: Thanks for the swift review. I have amended the hook ... I didn't have a lot of room to work with, but I came in just under the limit. Hope this works. Daniel Case (talk) 03:19, 11 February 2018 (UTC)
  • Yes, this works, thank you. Good to go for February 17. Yoninah (talk) 11:31, 11 February 2018 (UTC)
