Dockwise Vanguard

[edit]

Created by Martin451 (talk). Self nom at 09:20, 26 January 2013 (UTC)

  • Article: is new enough (created 25 Jan 2013); long enough (2574); appears to be neutral, cites sources and free of plagiarism; are not BLP's
  • Hook: Prefer ALT1 but neither hook is cited to any source that defines "full size(d) floating oil rig(s)"
  • Other: QPQ done; no images
Re-word hook(s) or cite to source(s) that define(s) the vague full size(d) in "full size(d) floating oil rig(s)" — Preceding unsigned comment added by Senra (talkcontribs)
  • ALT2:... that the semi-submersible ship Dockwise Vanguard can carry the world's biggest floating oil rigs?
  • full size -> biggest floating. Could use largest instead. Biggest is supported by new reference saying it has loaded (in the last couple of days)the biggest semi submersible oil rig. Old ref claims it will be transporting a floating spar in 2015, which a second ref claims will be the largest floating spar platform.
  • There are no free photos available, but there are now a couple of nice ones taken in the last few days (c) of Dockwise carrying its cargo.Martin451 (talk) 23:49, 16 February 2013 (UTC)
  • I am not happy with the phrase world's largest/biggest combined with floating oil rigs as it is not directly sourced. Dockwise Vanguard ... reports "Dockwise Vanguard was also contracted to transport the [...] the Aasta Hansteen spar platform to the Norwegian Sea" and "Dockwise Vanguard can transport large FPSO vessels, drilling rigs or heavy platforms.". We also see that Aker designs ... states that "Aker Solutions has been awarded a [...] contract [...] to design the world's largest spar platform for the Aasta Hansteen field ..."—my emphasis in all cases. If you can convince me that floating oil rigs is a type of spar platform then all would be well with ALT2 and your sources. How about ...
ALT3: ... that the semi-submersible ship Dockwise Vanguard can transport large floating oil rigs, drilling rigs or the world's largest spar platform, the Aasta Hansteen spar?
... sourced to Dockwise Vanguard ... and Aker designs .... By the way, my images comment is struck as it is not a requirement; I just noted images as I check image licenses if present.

Floating oil rigs also includes the semi-submersible that it is now carrying (which is the biggest semi), but I cannot show it includes all types of floating oil rigs.
I am happy with your alt. I have tried adding a non-free picture, but it has been tagged as speedy as it is possible to take a photo of this ship, but after lots of searching none are available, and I won't be anywhere near it myself to take one.Martin451 (talk) 01:07, 17 February 2013 (UTC)
Good to go with ALT3. Now needs another reviewer to accept my suggested hook --Senra (talk) 09:35, 17 February 2013 (UTC)
Yep, that hook is good and sourced. Go go go! Moswento talky 09:52, 19 February 2013 (UTC)
