- "a reminder to people on both sides of the nearby Mexico–United States border" is stated in the lead but not mentioned or cited in the main body of the text
- You state in the lead that "The five-point star consists of 459 bulbs" but the only mention in the main body is that it had 459 lights in the 1940s and is cited to a 1949 article. Do you have a more recent source that confirms the curren tversion has 459 lights?
- The passage "In 2010, the city council voted to approve a 50-year lease with 88 Investments Inc., the company that owns the land that the star resides on. Rather than paying rent, the city would pay taxes of about $1,200 per year on the land." is not cited. The wording about the city paying taxes is a bit strange to me, presumably they just exempt the landowner from having to make tax payments?
- The section headers are a bit strange to me, why 1950-46, 1970-1993 and 2007-2010? The star seems to have existed between these spans also?
- The lead also says the star is currently maintained by the chamber of commerce. This isn't mentioned in the main text (only that they maintained it from 1993). It strikes me as strange that they would maintain it if they donated the star to the city in 2009.
- Passage "This allowed easy control of the star without requiring a crew to physically go up the Franklin Mountains." is uncited
Request withdrawn My apologies – I should not be allowed to edit while tired. The article was created on April 21, not May 21, so it doesn't meet the criteria for DYK. Thank you so much for the helpful review though – I'll work on those things.I'm not too familiar with the process for closing a nomination, so if someone could take care of that, I would greatly appreciate it.
