Inner core super-rotation

[edit]
  • ... that the inner core may rotate at a different speed relative to the rest of Earth due to torque caused by Earth’s geodynamo and the solidification of the core?
  • ... that the inner core may rotate a bit faster than the rest of the Earth due to torque caused by Earth’s geodynamo and the solidification of the core?[1] "axial electromagnetic torque has a dominant influence only at the surface and in the deepest reaches of the core... and imparts an eastward-directed torque on the solid inner core." [2] "The doublets show a consistent temporal change of travel times... Our results confirm that Earth's inner core is rotating faster than the mantle and crust..."

  • The article is new enough and long enough and within policy, no copyvio was detected. The hook is cited and short enough. QPQ not needed as this is the first nomination of the user. I added ALT1. The only problem: The article was moved to the mainspace in March 19, but it is currently nominated in the "March 18" section. --Z 12:35, 21 March 2019 (UTC)
  • Moved to the correct date. Mikenorton (talk) 16:58, 21 March 2019 (UTC)
  • Thanks for the move. Another problem @Jsobe: please cite (link to) the source(s) for the hook here in this page. --Z 19:57, 21 March 2019 (UTC)
  • Appreciate the help. Added the sources Jsobe (talk) 00:25, 22 March 2019 (UTC)
