Michel Vlap

[edit]
  • ... that on 21 July 2016, Michel Vlap became first player ever to be brought on as a fourth substitute in a UEFA match?

Created by Liam E. Bekker (talk). Self-nominated at 14:34, 11 December 2016 (UTC).

  • Liam E. Bekker, thank you very much for taking the time to write this article. There are a few issues that need to be addressed before this article can be approved for DYK:
  1. The article does not meet the minimum length requirement. By my count, the article only contains approximately 950 characters of readable prose. Can you expand this article so that is meets the 1500 character minimum?
  2. All content needs to be supported by inline citations to reliable sources. Right now, the infobox and the "career statistics" section are no supported by inline citations. Additionally, in the "International career" section, you need citations for the assertion that "Vlap has represented Netherlands at both U18 and U19 level."
  3. The hook says that match occurred on July 21, 2016, but neither the text of this article or the UEFA news summary state the date of the match. Can you include a source that lists the date that the match occurred?
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Best, -- Notecardforfree (talk) 02:21, 12 December 2016 (UTC)
Shorter ALT1 added. Edwardx (talk) 12:11, 12 December 2016 (UTC)
  • ALT1 ... that on 21 July 2016, Michel Vlap became the first ever fourth substitute in a UEFA match?
    • Liam E. Bekker, can you please provide an update on the status of this nomination? I see that you've added some new text and citations to the body of the article, but it is still below the 1500 character minimum (by my count, it is 1,234 characters). • Hi Notecardforfree, apologies for not responding. I had begun working on the shortcomings you pointed out above but go side-tracked. I have made further edits this evening. Please let me know if this is in order or if there are more changes necessary. Thanks for your time, Liam E. Bekker (talk) 17:49, 19 December 2016 (UTC)
        • Liam E. Bekker, many thanks for your strong work improving this article. It is now above the 1500 character limit; it was created one day before the December 11 nomination; and now that citations have been added to the relevant portions of the article, it is within policy. Both the primary hook and ALT1 are approved, though my personal preference is for the shorter ALT1. Both are interesting, both are supported by an inline citation to a reliable source, and both are under 200 characters. This is Liam's third DYK nomination, so QPQ is not required. There are no images. Best, -- Notecardforfree (talk) 20:40, 20 December 2016 (UTC)
