Nana Kofi Twumasi-Ankrah
[edit]- ... that Queen Elizabeth II's appointment of Maj. N. K. Twumasi-Ankrah as equerry made him the first black man to hold that position in British monarch history? Source: see this

- New and long enough. QPQ done. Copyvio unlikely even though this can possibly be improved. A lot of references exist, so probably he satisfies WP:GNG but probably not WP:SOLDIER. Anyway hook is interesting and relevant. No images. Article is properly referenced. Good to go. Jupitus Smart 13:25, 13 July 2017 (UTC)
- @Jupitus Smart: this is called close paraphrasing and must be rewritten in the writer's own words:
- Source: The Queen's appointment was received with some cynicism by some social media users, who said the move is years late.

- Thanks for the heads up @Yoninah:. I was not sure if a Copyvio unlikely was enough to hold this up. Over to you now to improve this @Crosstemplejay:. Jupitus Smart 04:24, 16 July 2017 (UTC)
- @Yoninah: Changes made, please go through once more. CrossTemple Jay 13:57, 16 July 2017 (UTC)
- Thank you for your fixes. I did more copyediting on the article, removing some close paraphrasing that didn't turn up in Earwigs Copyvio Detector, and also removed text that was unrelated to the subject. I think the hook could be punchier, like:
- ALT1: ... that Ghanaian-born Major Nana Kofi Twumasi-Ankrah is the first black equerry in British monarch history? Yoninah (talk) 21:21, 18 July 2017 (UTC)
- Sourcing needs improvement, particularly since this is a BLP. Nikkimaria (talk) 12:07, 25 July 2017 (UTC)
- @Nikkimaria: Sourcing improvement done. Thanks and God bless.CrossTemple Jay 16:57, 26 July 2017 (UTC)

- @Nikkimaria: The link was very helpful, thanks. I want to paste it here of other editors too.
- The Mail is probably the bottom of the barrel, but the Express, Mirror, and Sun aren't far off. If we see a cite to any of them, it is generally a good idea to replace it to a cite to more reliable source. If no such source exists, and if a given statement is only seen there, then editors should carefully consider whether to remove the text at issue entirely, because coverage only by low-quality tabloids that's a pretty strong signal that something is not encyclopedic, would be given undue weight, etc. But of course a lot of this is based on context / case-by-case.
