Sam's Chicken

[edit]
Sam's Chicken, Hammersmith, London

  • ... that England cricketer Ravi Bopara has realised a childhood dream by having his own branch of Sam's Chicken (pictured)?

Created by Edwardx (talk). Nominated by Edwardx (talk) at 10:00, 2 April 2016 (UTC).

  • Article was created on 25 March, 06:53 (IST) and nominated eight days later – 2 April, 15:30 (IST). This exceeds eight days. There's a problem with the hook as well. Vensatry (Talk) 12:18, 13 April 2016 (UTC)
  • Thank you Venastry. QPQ now done. Sorry that it was a day late. You don't mention what the hook "problem" is. Edwardx (talk) 12:01, 18 April 2016 (UTC)
  • Before proceeding, I'd like to have the opinion of the delegates over the date matter. Vensatry (Talk) 09:49, 21 April 2016 (UTC)
  • @Vensatry: As it seems no one has responded in a week, it's up to you. The rules say 7 days but 8 is close enough and there is precedent to WP:IAR for late nominations. It shouldn't become a pattern though, as a reviewer would be justified in declining it if it's nominated a day late (the rationale being that we have enough of a backlog as it is without people stick more articles into the back of the backlog arbitrary lengths of time after they've created them) Intelligentsium 03:29, 28 April 2016 (UTC)
  • Size stands at 1576 chars. The article says (Bopara's words): I remember when I was saying it when I was about 14 and I said to my mates that we're going to own a chicken shop one day because all we used to eat was chicken, so we wanted to sit and eat our own chicken without having to pay for it. The hook is misleading and promotional – nowhere he talks about Sam's Chicken. Vensatry (Talk) 08:44, 1 May 2016 (UTC)

Sorry to be blunt but this nomination hasn't been touched for a long time. The hook is wrong, it is only just within the character limit (though there is a large quote which shouldn't be included so it is under the minimum); it was nominated a day late. Edwardx, I suggest you try again for DYK by getting this to good article status. ツStacey (talk) 08:40, 8 May 2016 (UTC)
