Trilby Yates
[edit]- ... that Julia Yates of fashion house Trilby Yates claimed she was the first woman in New Zealand to wear trousers? Source: "She was inspired by the movie-star style of Marlene Dietrich and claimed to be the first woman to wear trousers in New Zealand, once recalling how she was spat on for wearing the menswear on Queen Street in Central Auckland." "Trailblazers: Julia Yates", NZ Herald, 18 Sept 2018
- ALT1:... that Julia Yates, head of New Zealand fashion label Trilby Yates, was once spat at in the street for wearing trousers? Source: same NZ Herald article
- Reviewed: No quid pro quo required, as I've only submitted two previous articles to DYK.

Overall: Obviously it's impossible to verify whether she was the first woman to wear trousers in New Zealand, but the hook just says she claimed it, and so it passes. Smurrayinchester 15:14, 2 October 2018 (UTC)
- Hi, I came by to promote this, but the article is an orphan. Please link it in at least one other Wikipedia article so it won't get an orphan tag. Thanks, Yoninah (talk) 00:45, 17 October 2018 (UTC)
