Unexplained italics[edit]

Some of the House/Senate leaders are in italics and others are not, but the template does not explain why that is. It looks like it may be that the italicized names are those who served as minority leader, and the Roman/normal typeface is used for majority leaders. But I don't know if that's right, and don't feel comfortable adding that explanation without knowing for sure. But I do think it should be explained. User:RayneVanDunem, looks like you've done most of the work on this template - is my theory correct, or is there another reason? --EightYearBreak (talk) 14:16, 19 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
