field ordering[edit]

This template is for Pageant titleholders. The first part is generic background data from IB Person, then a Beauty Pageant header followed by the template specific fields. Two of the fields from IB person are really more relevant to the pageant career and should be moved down: Title and years_active. I have done this in the sandbox. Titles/competitions[edit]

There is almost no documentation on how this template is used. Per the above section, |title= is now in the Beauty Pageant section of the IB. I've noticed articles that use title (e.g. Miss USA 1999) often, under Major competitions, list "Miss USA 1999 (winner)". This is redundant, if someone is listed as a titleholder, it is obvious they won that competition.

Perhaps this can be improved - if there is just one parameter used, either Title or Major competitions would continue to display. But if both are used, then they could be displayed adjacent as Title/Other competitions. Any comments/concerns/better ideas? MB 18:01, 4 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
