Inclusion criteria?[edit]

Simply put, what are the criteria for inclusion on this template? They should at the least be recorded on this talk page, and not off on some other page.oknazevad (talk) 06:31, 30 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The current criteria is the 30 largest airports by passenger enplanements on this list. This could be changed, to say, any airport designated "P-L" (primary large hub) by the FAA, however.

I think that would indeed be a better criteria. either way, its good to actually have a record of the criteria here, not on a distant page.oknazevad (talk) 21:45, 30 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It does say as a hidden comment on the template. Either way, sounds good to me. I think that's a better criteria.

Okay, so if that's the criterion, why is MDW left off? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.245.207.102 (talk) 15:02, 25 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed. oknazevad (talk) 17:01, 11 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Memphis???[edit]

Since MEM is the hub for FedEx, it is one of the busiest airports in the world. It should be on the list!

Not on the FAA-designated P-L list. Why it isn't, you'd have to ask the FAA. oknazevad (talk) 17:01, 11 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Redundant list[edit]

So I'm being bold and removing the second list of airports on the bottom of the navbox.

Yes, it's alphabetical by IATA code. But the IATA codes are already listed parenthetically after the names in the first list. To include such redundant links is usually not done in navboxes; the only analogous example I can think of is navboxes for radio stations in metro areas, which link both by the frequencies and by the call signs, but in those cases call signs are unlikely to be recognized by people outside the area, and neither are particularly descriptive. More importantly, the one set of links doesn't include the same information as the other set of links, that is the call sign doesn't appear next to the frequency or vice versa.

So I really don't think we need both sets of links here, and feel the full names make for a better set of links. oknazevad (talk) 17:01, 11 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Decorative flag[edit]
