Replacing image with emoji

[edit]

@Sdkb: Recently I discovered that this template was changed to use an image, so now I can't use it in my signature anymore (I've been put on notice). I almost never watch talk pages, so if I were to use this as intended it would be functionally equivalent to a signature. I'm wondering if it's possible to replace the i favicon of a person with some kind of emoji. For example, a bell 🔔, a warning sign ⚠️, or whatever else. Multiple people seem to think the image is an issue. [1] [2] and I think an emoji would be an acceptable compromise. I added a parameter that'll allow you to use the bell: {{subst:please ping|visual=🔔}}. Hope that helps!
(I would oppose making it the default, however. The purpose of the Reply to icon is not to be a decorative illustration; it is to show newcomers how to mention someone. And if the icon does not match the icon in the user interface, it would be useless for that purpose.) {{u|Sdkb}} talk 15:58, 26 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I will also note that templates should not be used in signatures. Primefac (talk) 16:26, 26 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
