I recommend that each use of the word "entitled" be replaced by the word "titled" — entitled means having a right to something, while titled is unambiguous. Anomalocaris (talk) 07:17, 23 January 2010 (UTC)
- I guess you meant to say "entitled" can also mean having a right to something, since of the five definitions in the Shorter Oxford English Dictionary, the first three definitions all pertain to the naming or designation. Mind you, there are 10 definitions for the term "titled", one of which pertains to "an alleged or recognised right", a couple to rank or status, and one to championship. So (a) "titled" isn't so unambiguous, and (b) the meaning of the word "entitled" is found in its' sentence context (just as "titled" relies on context and grammar to be unambiguous). A correctly worded sentence, like that in the templates, is unambiguous. It cannot be misconstrued as pertaining to rights, because for that meaning to prevail, the sentence would have to say "entitled to...". Regards Wotnow (talk) 08:11, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
