Ashley Kay Smith is currently a student at Everett Community College where she is majoring in Sociology to become a Professor one day. She currently works at Everett Community College where she is the Diversity and Intercultural Awareness Program Coordinator as well as a Part Time Faculty member in the Health and Fire Science Department where she teaches Volleyball. She is also the Founder and Director of Future Leaders of the World (FLOW) Academy. FLOW is a Summer Leadership Academy for young women of color in raising awareness of post-secondary opportunities, exploring complexities of womynhood and inspiring them to become leaders in their communities. Ashley has always felt the need to encourage young folks of color to live out their highest possibilities even though there are institutions put in place that don't want to see them succeed. As a young woman that was raised in Everett with a strong commitment to community and involvement, Ashley currently is on the EvCC Community Diversity Advisory Committee, Co-Chair of the Student Diversity Advisory Committee at EvCC, an alumni of AmeriCorps College Access Program at Everett CC, on the planning committee for the NAACP/EvCC Youth Development Program and so much more.
