Bio

I am a current high school student, and part-time college student in Washington State. After I graduate high school I will major in nursing. I plan to get my doctorate degree and specialize in either neonatal or labor and delivery nursing. I work part time at a Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility as a Certified Nursing Assistant. In my little spare time, I enjoy learning about cars by taking apart the engines piece by piece. I also absolutely adore dogs.

I have had little experience with Wikipedia, besides brief readings on topics outside of school assignments - high school teachers detest the use of Wikipedia. I plan to involve myself in articles related to my personal interests as well as classes I am enrolled in this year.

Article Critique

The Office has always been one of my favorite T.V. shows. I have rewatched all the episodes numerous times and the show never fails to make me laugh. For this reason, I viewed its correlating Wikipedia page, but found it lacking in several aspects. I visited The Office page on Wikipedia, and found three aspects of it worth commenting on: little to no reference of the many different versions of the show, minimal description of the actual show and/or episodes, and the absence of citations.

Linguistic Versions

The show originated with the U.K. version, then was rewritten in the U.S. creating a longer and more successful show. Now, different versions have been shot in numerous countries and languages, however as a whole this article contains minimal description of only the U.K. version. Little reference is made to the international reach of the show. Although there is a chart encompassing the many actors and slight variations of the show between each Country's version, there is no description to the viewers or plot of the show.

Plot

The Office is about a group of employees who work for a paper company called Dunder Mifflin. This show is known for its witty humor and hilarious pranks, however there is nothing distinctive about this article explaining its topic, besides one brief statement generalizing it as a "mockumentary sitcom"; Other shows have created under this broad category with no differentiation in this article.

Citations

The first two paragraphs of the page mention the global popularity of the show and how many viewers it has, but it does not contain a source for the information provided. Similarly, it is noted that it is one of the earliest shows of its kind, however it is not provable with an accredited source. The only three citations provided are for three British awards the show won.

Question and Summary

I posted my question under the talk page with the title "Breadth of the Article". I chose to comment on the lack of plot description because the article was so largely lacking in this aspect. For such a successful show, this article does not contain enough information.
