- ′′Vanities of the world are transient...′′
- SWAMI VIVEKANANDA
Even in the lowest kinds of attraction there is the germ of divine love. One of the names of the Lord in Sanskrit is 'Hari', and this means that 'He attracts all things to Himself.' ...To love because it is the nature of love to love is undeniably the highest and the most unselfish of love that may be seen in the world.
- SWAMI VIVEKANANDA
Krishna's Butterball is a large granite balancing rock that rests on a short incline in the coastal resort town of Mamallapuram in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is approximately six metres (20 ft) high and five metres (16 ft) wide, with a mass of around 250 tonnes. It is balanced on a slope on top of a 1.2-metre-high (4 ft) plinth that is a naturally eroded hill. Krishna's Butterball is part of the Group of Monuments at Mahabalipuram, a UNESCO World Heritage Site built during the 7th and 8th centuries as Hindu religious monuments by the Pallava dynasty. It is now a popular tourist attraction.Photograph credit: Timothy A. Gonsalves
*Rungs of Love At first one loves only when one is loved. Next, one loves spontaneously, but one wants to be loved in return. Then one loves even if one is not loved, but one still wants one's love to be accepted. And finally one loves purely and simply, without any other need or joy than that of loving. - Mirra Alfassa
- To wish for perfection for the loved one, and to feel pure joy in thinking of that soul, is divine love; and that is the love of true friendship.
- Paramhansa Yogananda
- We are prone by habit to look at things only in combination of what others have observed. The most insignificant thing has a little unknown element in it. We must find it.
~Maupassant
