Jungle Records [1][2] was founded in Austin, Texas in the early 1980's, recording during the explosion in the city's roots rock music scene. The label was nationally recognized earning several awards including a Grammy (NARAS) nomination along with Best Indie Rock album and Best Indie Reggae album from the National Association of Independent Record Distributors (NAIRD). Check This Action - The LeRoi Brothers (1006) [3] - released in the spring of 1983 with a Rock & Roll parade down Austin's South Congress Avenue that featured the band playing from the bed of a pick-up truck. The group was founded in 1981 by Mike Buck, Don Leady, Steve Doerr, and Alex Napier, still performs today.

Trash, Twang and Thunder - Big Guitars From Texas (1007) - released in 1985. An instrumental album that featured six of Austin's most renowned musicians: Denny Freeman, [4][5][6] Evan Johns,[7] Frankie Camaro,[8] Don Leady, Mike Buck and Keith Ferguson [9] [10]. The LP received considerable attention and was recognized by the industry when in 1986 it was nominated for a Grammy Award (NARAS) in the category of Best Rock Instrumental Performance, that same year NAIRD presented the Big Guitars an Honorable Mention Award for Best Indie Rock Album. Trash, Twang and Thunder was released on CD by RykoDisc (20074) in 1988.

Psycho / My Baby Loves Monster Movies - The Commandos - 7" single released in 1985 that features a cameo appearance by Al Lewis aka Grandpa Munster. Pressed on orange vinyl with the picture sleeve art by Mike Buck.

Evan Johns & the H-Bombs (1008) [11] [12] self-titled debut released in April 1986. The LP was partially produced by Garry Tallent of Bruce Springsteen's E-Street Band. Another E-Streeter, Danny Federici is featured in a cameo appearance on "Day Go By."

Brave, Clean & Reverent - Wild Seeds (1009),[13] featuring songwriter Michael Hall and also Joey Shuffield later of Fastball was released in 1986. The Wilds Seeds were one of Austin's top acts during the famed sincerity movement and have recently reformed after a tribute show at Grulkefest (Austin, 2012).

Groovin' - Killer Bees (2001) - Released in 1987, this disc features Malcolm Welbourne (Papa Mali) and Michael E. Johnson, along with guests Cyril Neville and Daryl Johnson, (from the legendary Neville Brothers), Wailing Souls and Timbuk 3. It earned NAIRD's top award in 1987 for Best Indie Reggae Release. Also in 1987 they became the second American band to play at the Reggae Sunsplash Festival in Montego Bay, Jamaica.

Mamou (1010) - self-titled début released in September 1988. A Cajun-bred rock band created by Steve LaFleur that named after his hometown, Mamou, Louisiana. This début release is a true blend of Rock & Roll and traditional Cajun. In 1990 the album was re-released on MCA Records (10124). That same year the band & their music was featured in the 1991 film Scorchers [14] [15] that starred Faye Dunaway and James Earl Jones.

Please Mr. Santa Claus - Evan Johns & his H-Bombs (4001) released in the fall of 1989. A Christmas EP originally pressed on red vinyl, was re-released on CD by RykoDisc (30169) in 1990.

Live Texas Radio - Highwaymen* (3003) - released in 1990 and featured songwriter Troy Campbell and guitarist "Scrappy" Jud Newcomb (who later became Loose Diamonds) [16], was recorded in Austin, TX for KUT-FM's Live Set.

Dedication - True Believers (3013) - released in May of 2013. An EP featuring the reunion of the True Believers - Alejandro Escovedo, Javier Escovedo, Jon Dee Graham and Denny DeGorio.
