User:Chrishota
Welcome to the user page of chrishota on Wikipedia! My name is Christopher Gautam Hota and I reside in Bloomington, Illinois. I attend Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois, where I am earning credits to transfer to the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in Little Rock, Arkansas, where I formerly resided (and have >100 credit hours built up).
During the Autumn 2020 semester, I am attempting seven credit hours. Calculus I (Math 145), a four credit hour course, and Microeconomics (Economics 101), a three credit hour course. I have found the following links relevant to my academic situation:
- James_Stewart_(mathematician). All about the person who wrote my Calculus textbook, recently deceased. I found especially humanizing the article on the house he had built, Integral_House.
- Review Sheets from the ISU Department of Mathematics.
User Committed Identity
[edit]For reference, I keep the cleartext in a Secure Note in my Apple iCloud-based keychain.
Interests Include
[edit]- RFC 2119. The definitions of "MUST", "MUST NOT", "REQUIRED", "SHALL", "SHALL NOT", "SHOULD", "SHOULD NOT", "RECOMMENDED", "MAY", and "OPTIONAL." Yes, as errata attest, only majuscule forms of these words are to be received by specification implementors as authoritative.
From Roosevelt's Four Freedoms Speech
[edit]"In the future days, which we seek to make secure, we look forward to a world founded upon four essential human freedoms.
- "The first is freedom of speech and expression — everywhere in the world.
- "The second is freedom of every person to worship God in his own way — everywhere in the world.
- "The third is freedom from want — which, translated into world terms, means economic understandings which will secure to every nation a healthy peacetime life for its inhabitants - everywhere in the world.
- "The fourth is freedom from fear — which, translated into world terms, means a world-wide reduction of armaments to such a point and in such a thorough fashion that no nation will be in a position to commit an act of physical aggression against any neighbor — anywhere in the world.
"That is no vision of a distant millennium. It is a definite basis for a kind of world attainable in our own time and generation."
Apoptosis
[edit]- Lesson from Khan Academy. Apoptosis on Wikipedia. Interested in this (the orderly self-destruction of a cell) as the model for suicide by human beings, in light of the lack of presentation in the Bible (as evidenced by this [Bible Gateway search page for "suicide").
Three-Dimensional Self-Similar Fractals
[edit]Why do snowflakes seem like they are "designed" in two spatial dimensions then exuded into our three-dimensional space? I.e., why are snowflakes "flat?" Is there a self-similar fractal example in three dimensions? Seeming dead-ends in the search were Sierpiński_triangle and its mention of the pyramid form.
Flipbook Investigations
[edit]- In regard to a particular vision of an animation (which was beautiful, and now not quite remembered), I was prompted to research the Graphics Interchange Format. Official Specification of GIF89a.
- Next up: Scalable_Vector_Graphics#Example, an XML (text-based, well-structured, human- and machine-readable and -editable format for images to be created independently of how fine a display technology's "resolution" is).
