Karim Osama Ahmed (Arabic: كريم أسامة أحمد, born 20 August 2002), known by Karim Osama, is an Egyptian musician born in El Waili Cairo, Egypt. He found that music and writing are his own space to express his energy and feelings instead of giving in to depression. He had many identities, but he escaped with music as he felt happy through it. He reflects his true personality besides the different personalities he creates to deal with his daily life.

In a short period of time, Karim Osama was able to impose his name on the Egyptian scene, relying on his clever style of rhymes and similes, in addition to collaborations with the most prominent producers.

Biography

Karim Osama began to learn music production and sound engineering at the age of 12, then he started writing about his personal problems at the age of 15.

On July 16, 2020 he released his first song “Tayara Warak - طيارة ورق”.

On March 7, 2023 he released his first album "Awdet El Ebn El Dal - عودة الإبن الضال"

In the first half of 2023, without warning, Karim Osama unveiled his first EP titled "Awdet El Ebn El Dal - عودة الإبن الضال" produced by Takwene, including the most popular song “Nazlet Seman - نزلة سمان”. The album is produced in collaboration with some of the most influential producers in the Egyptian hip-hop scene: Molotof, ElWaili, Riff, and Sulisizer. Through five tracks, weaving elements of traditional shaabi music with contemporary hip-hop beats and introspective lyricism, Karim Osama demonstrated a high level of confidence and capabilities, presenting a distinctive voice that injected renewed enthusiasm into the scene, as well as tumultuous feelings of love, loss and pain in tracks like ‘Yemken Ala Bali’ ft. Riff. He also drew attention to a new voice with a clear style, consolidating his position as one of the most important talents to emerge recently within the Egyptian music scene.

With great confidence, a unique voice, and impressive technical ability, Karim Osama confidently navigated the creation of a style of his own, as he moved on the album smoothly between the heavy folk-trap verses produced by Molotof and Sulisizer, and the lo-fi hip-hop elements presented by Riff and ElWaili, resulting in a vocal style. Distinctive and rich listening experience. Karim's musical influences and spontaneous writing style play equally pivotal roles with tight musical production in shaping the album's identity. On February, 2024, Karim Osama returns with another short album, with an almost exclusive collaboration once again with Riff and Sulisizer. The album, titled "K.O." Three tracks showcase Karim's versatility as he moves seamlessly between different musical styles, honing his sound. His collaborations with Riff particularly stand out on the album, forming perhaps one of the most compelling rapper/producer duos in recent memory of the Egyptian scene. Throughout the album, Karim Osama displays glimpses of his technical ability, with Riff's and Sulisizer's music enhancing his flow and highlighting the depth of his lyrics, which oscillate between personal musings and observations on the world around him.

Despite the various production contributions, the album maintains a cohesive sonic unity, with smooth transitions between Sulidsizer's verses and Big Mo's Riff and additions on "Eh Henak." Cream's dynamic flutes stand out on the track '3l Abyad' produced by Sulisizer, a folk trap verse infused with the heavy vocal elements characteristic of Sulisizer's production style. Karim Osama's delivery occupies the scene, as he delivers his lines with confidence and indifference, reflecting on his journey in the music scene and the transformations he went through with his rise. The album's closing track, "Mn Sneen", produced by Riff, stands out as Karim's best performance on the album, as Riff's ethereal production meshes seamlessly with Karim's emotionally charged delivery. Riff employs a sample of the song "Childhood" by the dream pop band Beach House, adding a dreamy layer to the track, paving the way for Karim to delve into themes about his dreams, inner conflicts, and perspective on the world around him. Karim Osama continues to prove and consolidate his name as one of the most important talents that have appeared on the Egyptian scene in recent years, through thoughtful collaborations and elaborate releases that highlight his strengths, and with confident steps that pave the way for a unique voice that may occupy the top of the scene in the coming years.
