I think you may have confused the words "fond" and "fund". "fond of criticising" means "likes to criticise". "funds criticism" means "pays money for criticising". "Fond" has nothing to do with money. Despite this, I am not going to put "fond" back in because it is unnecessary and your wording is simpler, more neutral and less likely to be misunderstood. By DanielRigal
