Strong Men Armed is the firtshand narrative written by United States Marine Corps veteran, author, and military historian Robert Leckie about his experience in World War II. Strong Men Armed was first published in 1962 by Da Capo Press, a division of Plenum Publishers. It opens with passage 11:21 from the Gospel of Luke, in the King James Version of the Holy Bible.
The 2010 HBO mini-series The Pacific was adapted in part from Strong Men Armed, along with another Leckie book and books by other authors.
