Dogliotti was among the pioneers of the cardiac surgery in Italy, founding a center of cardiac surgery Turin entitled to Alfred Blalock and helping to refine the application of the heart -artificial lung for extracorporeal circulation (was among the first worldwide to use this technique), of 'hypothermia controlled and original techniques of cardiac surgery. Dogliotti also made ​​important contributions to the blood transfusion, to 'anesthesia, the abdominal surgery and treatment of cancer. Among his numerous publications, there are the Treaty anesthesiology in collaboration with Henry Ciocatto Treaty of technical and operational with Ottorino Uffreduzzi. He graduated with Torino, was a professor of condition to 'University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, then clinical surgery to that of Catania and 1943 at Turin. His favorite pupil was Edmondo Malan. Promoted the blood donation, and was among the promoters of the birth of the Italian Federation of Blood Donors (FIDAS). He is buried in Monumental Cemetery of Turin.
