The Albums Chart is a weekly record chart based on album sales from Sunday to Saturday; during the 2010s, a total of 63 albums reached number one. The most successful artist of the 2010s was American singer Lady Gaga, who topped the Albums Chart for 40 weeks with five different albums. 21, the second studio album by English singer-songwriter Adele, was the biggest-selling album of 2011 and also the biggest-selling album of the decade. The first number-one album of the 2010s was Lady Gaga's reissue The Fame Monster – released in 2009, it first reached number one on December of that year, and remained at the top for ten weeks. The final number one of the 2010s was the soundtrack Frozen II: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack.

Number-one albums

21 (2011), by English singer-songwriter Adele was the biggest-selling album of the decade. 21 spent 17 consecutive weeks at number one, more than any other studio album and the second overall. Her third studio album 25 (2015) spent ten consecutive weeks at number one and it is the tenth best-selling album of the 2010s.

American singer-songwriter Lady Gaga reached number one with five releases, the most of any act. Gaga also spent 40 weeks at number one, more than any other artist and also had the most entries in the top 20 best-selling albums chart with three. Her second studio album Born This Way (2011) spent 15 consecutive weeks at number one and it is the second best-selling album of the decade.

Frozen: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack the soundtrack to the 2013 Disney film Frozen was the best-selling soundtrack of the decade and the third overall, while its 19-week tenure atop the chart is the longest of the 2010s. The soundtrack to its sequel, Frozen II (2019) spent 13 consecutive weeks at the top spot.

English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran spent 32 weeks at the top of the Albums Chart during the 2010s, longer than any other male act and the second overall. Sheeran had the fourth best-selling album of the decade with ÷ (2017), which was also the best-selling album by a male act.

Teenage Dream (2010) by American singer Katy Perry is the fifth best-selling album of the decade and the third one released by a female act.
