Bath First Spiritualist Church is affiliated to the Spiritualist National Union (SNU) and was founded in 1920 when meetings were held above a small shop in Upper Borough Walls. Such was its popularity that moves to Citizen House and the Theatre were necessary. In 1936 records show Bath National Spiritualist Church located at 7 North Parade Buildings. In approximately 1951 the church moved to its present location in 16 Old Orchard Street, a John Wood listed building. In 2001 the name changed from Bath First Spiritualist Church to Bath First Spiritual Centre. In October 2010 the church reverted to the name of Bath First Spiritualist Church.
