Ismail Chowdhury An entrepreneur, organizer, social worker, writer, and filmmaker
'Build yourself' - believes in the motto. It is very important to know yourself to do something in this world. By knowing ourselves we can start the journey on the path of self-development. You have to prepare yourself to do something good and significant, otherwise, it is almost impossible. In this initiation, I have been trying to build a beautiful world since my childhood. I have been fulfilling my responsibilities as an entrepreneur, organizer, social worker, writer, and film worker in the pursuit of development.
I started my career after graduating from the University of Chittagong, Bangladesh in 2002 with a master's degree in philosophy. I am currently the proprietor and chief executive of the emerging publishing, film, public relations, and multipurpose advertising agency, NOKSHA, located in Chittagong. ‘NOKSHA’ works with elegant and clean concepts in such a way that every work of the customer has a meaningful, unique, and universal feeling. This global approach has allowed the NOKSHA to reach far beyond most creative studios in Chittagong.
I am working closely with various professional and social organizations and activities since childhood. Founder President of the Children's Fair Film Society (CEFFS), the organization that organized the first children's film exhibition in Bangladesh in 2003; founding member of the Millennium Association of Friends (MAF) and a member of the International Business Forum of Bangladesh (IBFB). In 2015, we established 'Chittagong SHORT' as a social responsibility program of NOKSHA to encourage young filmmakers in particular. Was also enlisted with the Bangladesh National Cadet Corps - BNCC, National Children Organisation 'Phulkuri', and Chittagong University Students Solidarity as a member.
Direct association and inspiration of Ekushey Padak-winning socialist and editor of 'Dainik Azadi' Lion MA Malek, MJF and sponsored by the then-District Governor Lion Kamrun Malek, MJF I enlisted Lions Clubs International on 26 October 2019 as a club member of the Lions Club of Chittagong, District 315-B4, Bangladesh. The then-club president was Lion Nishat Imran.
In May 2020, I took the initiative to use the hashtag #ActionTeam_in_CoronaDays with friends and family to address the epidemic of COVID-19. Hundreds of oxygen cylinders, medical equipment, and central oxygen systems have been installed in various hospitals through crowdfunding arrangements. Several articles have been published in newspapers and on social media. Since June 2020, have voluntarily joined the Al Manahil Nurture General Hospital, which is proposed to treat people suffering from COVID-19 in Bangladesh. It is an honor and a privilege to serve as the Director (Administration) and General Manager of Al Manahil Nurture General Hospital as a front-line fighter in a depressing pandemic situation. May Allah accept the sacrifice.
1991 in Bangladesh, the fourth-deadliest, tropical cyclone on record caused a 6.1 m (20ft) storm surge, which inundated the coastline, causing at least 138,866 deaths and about US$1.7 billion (1991 USD) in damage. Along with the neighborhood cousins, we operated relief projects especially establishing a handcrafted Oral Saline manufacturing project to distribute among the affected areas.
