Why do you want to be an admin?
[edit]Q: So why do you want to be an admin?
A: There are multiple areas in which I feel I could be helpful, including backlogs at AIV and CSD, sometimes there are not enough admins online, and Jimbo himself wrote that adminship was not a big deal. I have past experience as being one of the admins of a network of 300+ servers that served 10,000+ users, but my first attempt at being a Commons admin failed. — Jeff G. What do you expect from the admin coaching process?
[edit]Q: How can I help you prepare for an RFA?
A: I want to make sure that I am grounded enough in policies and procedures to be an admin here, have learned sufficiently from my mistakes, and would be well received at RfA. — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 16:50, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
Standard (mandatory) RFA questions
[edit]Answer these questions:
1. What administrative work do you intend to take part in?
- A: There are multiple areas in which I feel I could be helpful, including backlogs at AIV and CSD. — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 15:11, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
2. What are your best contributions to Wikipedia, and why?
- A: Writing (and improving) Daniel Terdiman and helping interventions against many vandals. I think both improved the project. — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 15:50, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or have other users caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
- A: I misinvoked WP:EVULA (felt that I was right) in continuing to revert what I felt was vandalism, and got blocked for it without notice. I was overzealous in crusading for edit summaries and in keeping discussions where they started. I have learned from my mistakes. — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 15:50, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

Admins are expected to have an intimate understanding of Wikipedia policy. They are also expected to consistently demonstrate comprehension of these policies. This is especially paramount regarding the use of abilities entrusted to admins which are unavailable to regular users and editors of Wikipedia.
