Sheikh Mohammed bin Faisal bin Sultan Al Qassimi is a member of the royal house of Al Qasimi.[1] who rule the Emirate of Sharjah [2] and Ras Al Khaimah[3].Sheikh Mohammed is the grandson of Sheikh Sultan bin Salim Al Qasimi (ruler of Ras Al Khaimah[4] from 19 July 1921 to February 1948) and great grandson of Sheikh Salim bin Sultan Al Qasimi ( who ruled both Ras Al Khaimah[5], from April 1868 to 1869, and Sharjah [6], from 14 April 1868 to March 1883 [7].

Family

Sheikh Mohammed bin Faisal Al Qassimi is the son of Sheikh Faisal bin Sultan Al Qassimi [8] and Sheikha Moza bint Hilal Al Nahyan [9] member of Abu Dhabi's[10] ruling family.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Faisal Al Qassimi is married to Sheikha Maryam bint Hasher bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum,[11] member of Dubai's [12] ruling family and together they have 3 children: Sheikh Rashid, Sheikha Hind and Sheikh Maktoum.

Education

Sheikh Mohammed bin Faisal bin Sultan Al Qassimi is a graduate from the Webster University [13] in Business Administration and Accounting and a member of the CMA and the Society of Technical Analysts of the United Kingdom.

Career

Sheikh Mohammed Bin Faisal Bin Sultan Al Qassimi has eminent experience for more than 30 years in many industries, including the financial & banking, private equity investment, capital market investments, real estate, hospitality, tourism, and retail sector. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Faisal Bin Sultan Al Qassimi was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of United Arab Bank in March 2024. He has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2011, chaired the Board Credit Committee (BCC) since 2016, and was a member of the Board Corporate Governance & Remuneration Committee (GRC) since 2017.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Faisal Al Qassimi is also the Chairman of Manafa LLC, a holding company and investment house with diversified activities in the fields of hospitality, real estate investment and asset management, and investments in capital markets, listed equities, fixed income instruments, Forex, and private equity.

Sheikh Mohammed holds key directorship and senior positions at various business groups and associations including:

Sheikh Mohammed bin Faisal was featured in the list of the '100 MOST POWERFUL LOCALS IN THE GCC' by Milano Finanza[14].

Sheikh Mohammed bin Faisal was honored at the ‘9th Edition of the Gulf International Congress’ for his commitment as the honorary president as well as in recognition of his longstanding support of trade exchange between Italy and the UAE. The award was presented by the president of the chamber; Stefano Campagna[15].

United Arab Bank

Sheikh Mohammed bin Faisal bin Sultan Al Qassimi has been a member of the United Arab Bank’s board of directors since 2011 and has chaired the bank’s ‘Board Credit Committee (BCC) since 2016 .Since 2017, Sheikh Mohammed bin Faisal bin Sultan Al Qassimi was a member of the bank’s ‘Board Corporate Governance & Remuneration Committee’ [16]

In March 2024, Sheikh Mohammed bin Faisal bin Sultan Al Qassimi was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors, succeeding Sheikh Faisal bin Sultan bin Salem Al Qassimi who held the position for nearly 50 years[17]
