Wikipedia is, to me, a very interesting project in terms of its potential to produce a truly balanced and informative information resource.
I am a teacher and amateur botanist with a special interest in hardwoods which can be easily grown for shade or in plantations and which have commercial applications. My current favorite species include Eucalyptus Robusta (common name: Swamp Mahogany) Eucalyptus_robusta and Grevillia Robusta (common name: Silky Oak) ([Grevillea_robusta]]).
These species are currently being used on a limited scale in musical instrument making and fine joinery. Unfortunately, I have not been able to locate sources of related information that could be included in relevant Wiki articles.

The samples below are (top)Jarrah[[1]] (grows in the South Western corner of Australia) and (bottom) two samples of Grevillea robusta or Silky Oak. (Photo by Maximango)

Jarrah has also found application in musical instrument manufacture and cabinet making. It is said to have the appearance of Mahogany, however, the attractive sample shown here has a black fleck running through the grain along with light flame.
