That's all I need is yet another source for people to bug me. :) Just kidding.

Here is the bio published on the MILNET website, an early website in the area of an Online Military Encyclopedia:

Michael Crawford has been writing since 1981 as both a fiction and non-fiction writer.

In June of 1985 he began the MILNET project, compiling information on world terrorism, intelligence, and the military with the purpose of providing a real world database on those topics to aid the fiction writer.

In June of 1995 the research culminated into the development start on one of the first web pages devoted to the subject matter on the World Wide Web at www.milnet.com. Within in three years other sites began to spring up with databases devoted to terrorism and intelligence, and so called hobby sites began to upgrade to useful open source intelligence operations in the MILNET mode.

Mr. Crawford has a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Oregon at Eugene and has over 20 years of experience in engineering and marketing in Silicon Valley. His skills include both the technical and marketing sides of high technology business. He became a full time writer in February of 2002.

Mr. Crawford has set up worldwide contacts for the MILNET web site, which he operates and runs as the Chief Editor. The site offers viewpoints from both conservatives and liberals while focusing on non mainstream media coverage with hopes of bringing some balance. Contributors brought to MILNET include a former ambassador, several professors with expertise in intelligence, military strategy and the middle east, as well as highly experienced journalists that cover the spectrum of issues in military, intelligence and terrorism. His network includes former Open Source intelligence officers as well as former clandestine operators who prefer to remain anonymous.

Mr. Crawford has also operated as a volunteer radio communications specialist manning tactical radio networks using amateur radio operators to support fire and police during actual and simulated emergency situations. Mr. Crawford is familiar with shelter management, emergency stress management and crisis management techniques for natural disasters.

Mr. Crawford has also ventured into the technical and creative sides of television, operating all positions from camera to producer and director. This includes creation of training videos and management of filming, editing and reproduction for a commercial application.

As a fiction writer, Mr. Crawford has the unique creativity ability to foresee and predict possible future events that "connect the dots". He also places no limit on imagination and thus is an ideal analyst for the topic matter of MILNET, not afraid to imagine the unthinkable. He not only points out problems, but also suggests solutions that may fly in the face of political correctness.

As a non-fiction writer, Mr. Crawford brings over 20 years of skills in research both online and offline to MILNET and his organization skills create unique and succinct analysis of geo-political events as well as simple to read charts and tables on military, intelligence and terrorism topics.
