additional info about editing + scientific biographies if you are new to wikipedia
[edit]- Wikipedia is edited collaboratively by volunteers. You can see all volunteer wikipedia editors who have contributed to any given article and their specific contributions by clicking the "View History" tab of an article.
- Articles on living academics and and individuals editing such these must adhere to the Wikipedia policies on Biographies of Living Persons.
- While all articles in blue links are live and have passed wikipedia peer-review, new biographies of academics can still be subject to deletion (a peer-reviewed wikipedia process) under the wikipedia guidelines for Notability of Academics. To help ensure new articles are not nominated for deletion on notability grounds, a major effort with biographies on academics (and edits thereof) is ensuring articles are as detailed and well-sourced as possible.
- You can easily request automated updates on changes that are made to any given article on wikipedia by adding it to the watchlist of your wikipedia account. More info about making a free wikipedia account is at this link.
