I'm in book publishing and have been working in Wikipedia since 2010. I'm mostly interested in creating entries in areas like books and writing in areas like the African American work, Native American history, the South, and Midwest. That said, I take up random opportunities when they present themselves. I'm less interested in editing and policing the site. Over the years, I have often dipped into Wikipedia for short intense periods usually followed by an interaction that reminds me that Wikipedia culture is often mean-spirited and persnickety. When that happens, I log out and put it out of my mind till something interesting brings me back.
