THE JAZZ OF THE CITY ATLANTA 2007 Presented by Jazz of the City 91.9 FM WCLK Radio is a color portrait of 108 jazz musicians plus 10 radio announcers for WCLK 91.9 FM and the City of Atlanta Office of Cultural Affairs Director Camille Russell Love — all surrounding City of Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin (seated, front row, center) in this historic photograph.
The unveiling of this momentous image marked a great day in Atlanta jazz history and the thirtieth anniversary of The Atlanta Jazz Festival. Similar to the iconic ART KANE JAZZ PORTRAIT HARLEM 1958 (A Great Day in Harlem) — THE JAZZ OF THE CITY ATLANTA 2007 has been memorialized as postcards and posters.
The photograph was taken by Seve “Obasina” Adigun and Gregory Turner in the Atlanta City Hall Atrium. Jazz of the City 91.9 FM WCLK Radio is broadcast from Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, Georgia. The portrait is available for purchase through Jazz 91.9 FM WCLK. All of the names are printed at the bottom of the poster.
