Who is PoliceScienceGuy?
[edit]Lifelong public servant with a keen interest in learning and sharing facts about American policing and criminal justice, particularly the organizations, people and strategies that make up the American justice system.
Why Does PoliceScienceGuy Create and Edit Pages?
[edit]PoliceScienceGuy creates and edits pages to add facts to the discussion and to share knowledge with others. PoliceScienceGuy believes that too much of what American and global communities believe and understand about criminal justice and policing is not based on science or fact, but the art of entertainment (i.e., "Hollywood") and social media content that may well reflect sentiment, but rarely reflects the truths of science and fact.
PoliceScienceGuy and Transparency
[edit]PoliceScienceGuy works at the Police Foundation, a national, non-profit organization dedicated to advancing policing through science and innovation. PoliceScienceGuy has advanced degrees but has not earned a Ph.D. PoliceScienceGuy has studied policing for roughly 30 years and worked in law enforcement. PoliceScienceGuy admits to having personal views and beliefs about policing and crime (c'mon, don't we all?) but commits to adding content and making edits that are fact-based and opinion-neutral. PoliceScienceGuy invites other users to provide feedback on content and edits.
