John J. Winter § Life and career

Winter was born on October 27, 1866, in Stearns County, Minnesota. He was educated in the Stearns County Common Schools until the age of 18. He then began assisting his father on the family farm until he was 24.[1] On April 7, 1891, Winter married Mary Lenz, and they had a total of 10 children together.[2] In 1901, Winter was elected town clerk of Spring Hill, a position he held 1912.[1]
