PROPOSAL FOR FEATURED DINOSAUR INITIATIVE SUBPAGE
This is based on Wikipedia:WikiProject_Tropical_cyclones/Collaboration.

The Featured Dinosaur Initiative (FDI) is an effort by WikiProject Dinosaurs to get at least one dinosaur or dinosaur-related article featured every month. Aside from the main benefit of creating better dinosaur articles on Wikipedia, it is hoped that the successful execution of this initiative will a) attract new editors to work on the Project; b) improve the writing skills of existing editors; and c) demonstrate the value of collaboration on Wikipedia.

Procedure

[edit]
  1. An article or is chosen to be a Featured Dinosaur Candidate (FDC).
  2. The article is improved in-house.
  3. The article is then sent for peer review.
  4. Further improvements are made to the article.
  5. When peer reviewers seem to be satisfied, the article is sent to the Featured article candidate page for further review.
  6. Still further improvements are made to the article until a consensus of support is reached on the FAC page.
  7. The article becomes yet another Featured Article!

More than one article may go through the above procedure simultaneously. Indeed, it is expected that several articles may be at different stages in the process at the same time.

Project editors need not follow the above guidelines or even participate in the Initiative at all. Feel free to send an article to peer review or FAC if you think it is ready. However, it is hoped that following this procedure will result in better quality articles that are more likely to pass the FAC process.

[edit]

Please list any dinosaur or dinosaur-related article you wish to nominate as an FDC below, with a link to the article. Articles may be in any stage of development, but if an article needs a lot of work, please label it as a fixer-upper. Nominations will be discussed on the talk page, and those chosen will be collaborated upon to a point where there is consensus to send it to peer review.

Articles in peer review

[edit]

The following are articles which have been chosen to progress to peer review. Most of these articles will have been chosen by consensus, but if you have sent an article to peer review on your own, please list it here as well. Once an article is no longer under peer review (for example, if it becomes an FAC), it will be removed from this list.

Featured Article Candidates

[edit]

The following articles have been added to the FAC page. If you have nominated an article as an FAC, please list it here. Articles which are no longer on the current FAC page (whether they pass or fail) will be removed from this list.

These articles have become featured! In the unlikely event that a dinosaur article is removed from the FA list, please add a note below but DO NOT remove it from the list.
