Article Evaluation
[edit]I've been interested in takoyaki ever since I notice the depth of it. It is a famous Japanese appetizer especially in Osaka. I visited the Wikipedia page about takoyaki and found three aspects of it worth commenting on: its lack of citations, informations, and images of variations of takoyaki.
citations
[edit]Though the article does have some citations, and the links are current and active, some words aren't covered by citations. For instance, the section titled "History," which states things like "Takoyaki is now sold at supermarkets and 24-hour convenience stores" has no citations, so I don't know if the information is correct or just made up by an anonymous Wikipedia editor. Furthermore, I've never seen takoyaki at convenience stores though I lived in Osaka.
informations
[edit]people can get to know basic informations like "Takoyaki is a ball-shaped Japanese snack or appetizer," but this page is not written in detail. For example. there is an event called Takoyaki Party. The party is a get along event with your friends at home like home party. It's popular especially in Osaka because most people who live in Osaka has a hotplate for takoyaki, and they often add creativity into takoyaki filling; they put sausage or cheese into their takoyaki filling. This information would make this Wikipedia page more prosperous.
Images of takoyaki
[edit]As this Wikipedia page describes the examples of takoyaki recipes such as ponzu, there are many variations of takoyaki depending on blending ratio of materials and how much it's heated. However there are very few images of takoyaki. it would be more effective to display the menu of Japanese takoyaki specialty restaurants.
Conclusion
[edit]Overall, I'd rate this page as "basically alright." This Wikipedia page has citations, basic knowledge, and good structure. However, there are some informations which doesn't have citations or which is not detailed. Also, there are some images that are not included on this page. I think it would be more beneficial for readers to make changes which I described to the article.
