Cecilia deCastro is a chef, educator, and influential culinary figure based in Los Angeles, California.
deCastro has a degree in Nutritional Science from Cal State Northridge. She developed and taught at Ma Cuisine, the cooking school attached to Ma Maison, Wolfgang Puck's first major restaurant in America. She developed and taught the culinary program at UCLA. While at UCLA, she twice won Teacher of the Year. She developed and taught the culinary program at Westlake Culinary Institute.
She served as culinary producer to Wolfgang Puck's five seasons of shows on the Food Network, which won an Emmy award in ____.
She has donated and coordinated time and food for many events and charities, including Meals On Wheels, Habitat for Humanity, and The Ayala Foundation, among many others.
She is a leading figure in promoting Filipino culture and arts through her association with FPAC.
deCastro recently founded the Academy of Culinary Education in Woodland Hills, California.
