Projects

[edit]

Oh jebus I just started looking into the full taxonomy... I think there's a lot of work that needs to be done. First look at other examples of good work linking between the order down to the species.

add other species of opossum? lots of specific info to Virginia Opossum and nothing about other.

Reproduction

[edit]
  1. dimorphic details aren't quite right.
  2. Number of teets
  3. Female opossums give birth to very large numbers... I think that can be cleaned up but I'm not sure what the "depending on species" statement means since this article is about a single species.
  4. Lifespan can be up to 4 years or slightly longer in captivity. Lifespan in the wild is generally 1-2 years average.
  5. Out of most litters, only 1 on average will survive to adulthood
  6. There are three stages to their life cycle: infant/newborn, juvenile, and adult.

Diet

[edit]
  • add stomach content breakdown from Henness research

Behavior

[edit]
  • Needs cleaning up. Not sure where to start.
