Charles J. Connick

Charles J. Connick (1875-1945) was a painter, muralist, and stained glass designer. He is the author of "Adventures of Light and Color." (1937)

Life and Work

He was born in Springboro, Pennsylvania and settled in the Boston area where he was active in the Boston Art Club, the Mural Painters, and the Copley Society.

He did many stained glass commissions for churches and chapels including in Pittsburgh, San Francisco, Chicago, Boston, and Washington DC. He also wrote a book, Adventures in Light and Color (1937), and a series for Random House titled International Studio (1923-24). After working in Pittsburgh and New York, Connick opened his stained glass studio at Nine Harcourt Street in Boston in 1913.
