Watsons Test
Purpose
[edit]Procedure
[edit]Patient is to be seated in a relaxed position with his/her elbow flexed and supported on a table. Their forearm should be pointed up with the arm resembling a V. The wrist should be ulnarily deviated. The examiner should just be standing in front of the patient. The examiner will the apply dorsal pressure to the distal pole of the scaphoid with their thumb. They should then proceed to rotate the patients wrist from ulnar deviation to radial deviation.

[edit]A postitive sign will reproduce pain at the site as well as a distinguishable "pop" at the scapholunate articulation. This is a sign for Scapholunate Dissociation
