Oggy and the Cockroaches

Oggy and the Cockroaches Next Generation (French: Oggy et les Cafards Nouvelle Génération) is a 2021 French animated slapstick series produced by Xilam and a reboot to the 1997 TV series, Oggy and the Cockroaches. The reboot curiously excludes Jack and Olivia, has a slightly more lighthearted tone and is visualized with a more geometric style, like Zig and Sharko.

The show is currently available in France only and is distributed on Gulli's streaming service, Gulli Replay, and the entire series available on its premium version, Gulli Max. It can also be streamed within the official Gulli app. However, it is also labeled as its predecessor's eighth season.

Plot

Oggy is an anthropomorphic cat living in the modern-day suburbs. He would live an average, everyday life, but he shares a home with three mischievous cockroaches - Joey, Dee Dee and Marky - tricksters who only want to cause trouble in a variety of ways. His Indian friends are also on vacation and drop off their 7-year old daughter, Piya, an elephant with an optimistic outlook for Oggy to look after.

Oggy, now with a new roommate, has an obligation on how he'll become a proper father figure. Piya also obliviously ends up seeing the cockroaches as Oggy's welcomed visitors, making the rascally trio see her as their big advantage. This forces Oggy to multitask his way through pranks and parenting.
