Three ISIL-KP militants were killed and three more were wounded by a US drone strike in Achin District according to a "provincial police commander" in a statement released to Khaama Press[1][2]
- March 11
US airstrikes in Nazian and Kot District killed 16 ISIL-KP fighters, including seven Pakistani nationals according to a "provincial police commandment" in a statement released to Khaama Press. The strikes began at 10:30 a.m. local time in Nazian District and at 3 p.m. local time in Kot District. At least nine of the deaths were in Kot.[3][4]

At least four airstrikes were conducted in Achin District, reportedly killing 17 ISIL-KP fighters according to a local "provincial police commander".[5][6] Another airstrike was conducted by the Afghan Air Force in the village of Jawargar in Achin District killing eight ISIL-KP fighters.[7]

US forces conducted 12 airstrikes in Nangarhar Province on March 18, a US spokesperson reported to the Bureau for Investigative Journalism via an email.[8]

The Afghan Air Force conducted an airstrike in Kot District killing 33 ISIL-KP fighters the Ministry of the Interior reported to TOLO News.[11]
- March 29
A US airstrike targeted Taliban commanders in Khogyani District according to a "provincial police commander". The strike killed four prominent commanders identified as Zakir, the districts "shadow chief", Gul Mohammad and two others. The strike also injured four other militants.[12] Three suspected ISIL-KP fighters were killed by airstrike in Achin District however it is unclear who conducted the strike and wether it was multiple strike or one.[13]
April 2017

Khaama Press reported on April 3rd that US airstrikes left 16 ISIL-KP dead fighters in Nangarhar Province. It is unclear if the strikes were conducted on the 3rd or an earlier date.[14]
- April 4
A US airstrike in Achin District killed three civilians including two children and injured a further four.[15]
- April 11
Airstrikes in Achin District by the Afghan Air Force killed 49 ISIL-KP fighters. The strikes were said to have been a part of "Operation Hamza".[16][17]
- April 13 - April 2017 Nangarhar airstrike
In what is the first time of its use in a war zone,[18] the United States Air Force dropped the largest non-nuclear bomb available in its arsenal, a massive GBU-43/B MOAB on an ISIL-KP tunnel network once used by the Mujahideen during the Soviet-Afghan War and utilized by Osama bin Laden during the 2001 Invasion of Afghanistan.[19] The strike was conducted in the Mohmand Valley of Achin District at 7:32 p.m. local time. Initially 36 militants were reported dead,[20][21] but as the days followed the casualty figure grew, first to 82,[22] then to 94,[23] and then 96 including 13 commanders according to a top Afghan security official.[24]

An airstrike in nazian District was conducted at 10:00 a.m. local time killing five ISIL-KP fighters, all Pakistani nationals according to a provincial government media office. It is unclear who conducted the strike.[26]
- April 22
Two airstrikes were conducted Achin and Haska Mina District in Nangarhar province killing at least 28 ISIL-KP militants according to an unnamed Afghan official. One strike hit a compound killing nine while another killed 19. It is unclear who conducted the strikes and when the strikes exactly occurred.[27]
- April 26-27 - Mohmand Valley raid
- April 28 - Afghan forces killed 20 ISIL-KP militants
