Monarca Paragliding Open new article content ...
The Monarca Paragliding Open is a paragliding competition held annually (the first was held on the year 2003) during winter in Valle de Bravo and Temascaltepec, Estado de México, México. Is the most important free flight competition in México, both in terms of number of competitors and technical level. At times it had a FAI level 2 category[1], but conflicts with the Mexican Air Sports Federation (FEMEDA) have resulted in the competition being held without FAI sanctioning.
The success of the Monarca competition (in part due to the consistency of El Peñón flying area) was directly responsible for the selection of México as the host of the XI Paragliding World Championship in January/February 2009.
