1. Biography

Hi my name is David Sykes and originate from East Kilbride near Glasgow in Scotland.

I am a scientist working in an environmental consultancy.

Somewhere in the dim, distant past I have a PhD in (Bio)Aerosol Science, and more recently a MSc in Environmental Engineering, but originally I did a degree in Biotechnology.

I have worked as a microbiologist, a consultant in the defense industry, in forensic science as a manager (a grim job), for two different vacuum cleaner manufacturers and in various academic institutions.

So this experience and education is where I will base my wiki editing.

2. Who is TRM?

WHOISTRM is an pseudonym / web-based name for myself David Sykes, consequently I use it in many usernames, etc. It originates from a nickname I was presented with shortly after my kidney transplant at a party in Bristol (though this origin is perhaps a little hazy). TRM is an acronym for the said nickname, which I only let people guess it's meaning, but it isn't rude...

3. WIKI editing

This is to be updated as time goes by... but I will be starting on particulates and my pet hate... PM₁₀ PM_2.5 which are always described incorrectly as particles less than 10 and 2.5 micrometers when in fact they are with a mean diameter of 10 and 2.5 microns (must find the symbol for this!) respectively.
