Itō Sukechika

[edit]

Hi thanks for creating Itō Sukechika which I’m just reviewing. It is a requirement that when we translate or re-use any material from another language wiki, we give proper attribution for copyright reasons. If you use material from another wiki you should say so in your first edit summary when you create a new article. Did this article include any material from ja.wiki? Thanks and happy editing!

Hi, thanks for the message and thank you for reviewing many of the articles I've created. For this article I only used the sources I have cited and did not use any material from ja.wiki. 太西 (talk) 08:34, 23 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Help with a draft

[edit]

I really appreciate your work and I'd like your help with a draft article I've been working on. Draft:Living worship do you think you could add to it and perhaps decide on a better name for it. Immanuelle ❤️💚💙 (talk to the cutest Wikipedian) 05:29, 27 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks for the message. For the name, I feel like "Worship of the living" could sound more natural, what do you think? I think you should also indicate the language of non-English terms, especially in articles like this where you mention terms from multiple languages. 太西 (talk) 12:13, 27 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not able to thank you for moving Kosha (lecture group) to Kō (lecture) due to technical limitations so here's a cookie

Women's biographies

[edit]

Hi there, 太西, and thanks for all your articles about Japan. I see that among your many biographies, there are quite a few about women. If you intend to continue along these lines, you might be interested in becoming a member of WikiProject Women in Red where we are trying to chip away at the gender gap on Wikipedia. You can sign up under "New registrations" on Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Red/New members. Happy editing!--Ipigott (talk) 10:39, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Amanomichine

[edit]

I am confused about the identity of the deity Amanomichine linked in Amenohoakari. Can you give me the Japanese name of the deity? Immanuelle ❤️💚💙 (talk to the cutest Wikipedian) 22:38, 16 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It would be 天道根命 (Amanomichine-no-Mikoto). Please note that the Japanese article doesn't have sufficient inline citations if you're thinking of translating it. 太西 (talk) 12:11, 25 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Johann Karl August Musäus

[edit]

Hi, thanks for your edit to Johann Karl August Musäus. I hadn't heard that he was a philologist; I wonder if it's a conflation with the Brothers Grimm, who were very influential philologists. Are there any good sources that support this for Musäus? --YodinT 13:57, 28 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks for the comment. The article says "he became professor of Ancient Languages and History at the Wilhelm-Ernst-Gymnasium." The German article says he was a philologist, and thought this would describe his work as a professor. Although unsourced, the German article also claims he studied classical philology. 太西 (talk) 14:30, 28 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
His ADB article might be the source the German article was using? ADB says that he studied philology, but he doesn't seem to have published any books or articles on philology. As you point out, he seems to have been a teacher of ancient languages (presumably Latin and Greek) and history at secondary school level. Would be interesting to find out more about the extent of any contributions to philology by him, but for now I've removed it from the lead. --YodinT 15:25, 28 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Is Oyamakui no Kami androgynous?

[edit]

I have been working on a draft Draft:Oyamakui no Kami and I’m a bit confused about the deity. I found one source saying they are a “transgender mountain spirit” and I’d like to know if you have heard about this. I read the cited book and I don’t think it’s reliable. Question about a reference

[edit]

In this edit a few years ago you added a reference to Yoshida Shigeru to sono jidai. Genji Ookubo, John W. Dower, 愿二大窪. 中央公論社. 1991. pp. 5, 6. ISBN 9784122018327. OCLC 1021037693.{{cite book}}: CS1 maint: others (link), which I would guess the metadata for which was pulled from the OCLC link (but also possibly the ISBN). Based on what I can see looking through Google, this doesn't exist at that title. Dower seems to have written this Amazon work which has that title in the Amazon page but the cover says something different, and that the work Yoshida Shigeru to sono jidai was actually written by Okazaki Hisahiko.

Can you help sort the confusion and/or clarify from which of the two works the facts on the page originate? Or if there is in fact a third work with the same title...? Izno (talk) 20:44, 20 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
