Information icon Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit(s) you made to 1941 (film), did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Never change a direct quote, regardless of whether you approve of its wording. CodeTalker (talk) 03:50, 24 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Back to the Future, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. GSK (talkedits) 03:13, 24 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add or significantly change content without citing verifiable and reliable sources, as you did with this edit to Aliens (film). Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Q T C 03:17, 24 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop

[edit]

You cannot modify a direct quote made by another person. You have now twice tried to change a direct quote at The Fifth Element made by effects artist Karen Goulekas, who said "We had maybe eighty cityscape shots with CG cars ...". Please stop changing 'CG' to 'CGI'. Karen explicitly stated CG, which is not surprising considering that was a term typically used in the 90s to refer to this animation. Quotes are supposed to be what the person actually said, not what you think the person should have said decades later. Damien Linnane (talk) 04:08, 24 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

National varieties of English

[edit]

Information icon Hello. In a recent edit to the page Talking Tom & Friends (TV series), you changed one or more words or styles from one national variety of English to another. Because Wikipedia has readers from all over the world, our policy is to respect national varieties of English in Wikipedia articles.

For a subject exclusively related to the United Kingdom (for example, a famous British person), use British English. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English. For something related to another English-speaking country, such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, India, or Pakistan, use the variety of English used there. For an international topic, use the form of English that the first author of the article used.

In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to another, even if you don't normally use the version in which the article is written. Respect other people's versions of English. They, in turn, should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Manual of Style. If you have any questions about this, you can ask me on my talk page or visit the help desk. Thank you. Tube·of·Light 04:46, 24 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
