Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions, such as the ones you made to Jaya (singer). I hope you like the place and decide to stay.

Here are some links to pages you may find useful:

You don't have to log in to read or edit articles on Wikipedia, but if you wish to acquire additional privileges, you can simply create a named account. It's free, requires no personal information, and lets you:

Note that in order for the first three features to be available, you must have had an account for a certain number of days and made a certain number of edits.

If you edit without using a named account, your IP address (174.126.233.219) is used to identify you instead.

I hope that you, as a Wikipedian, decide to continue contributing to our project: an encyclopedia of human knowledge that anyone can edit. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, or you can click here to ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly. We also have an intuitive guide on editing if you're interested. By the way, please make sure to sign and date your talk page comments with four tildes (~~~~).

Happy editing! Kirbanzo (talk) 03:57, 17 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please learn how hyphens work. They are often necessary. Thanks. — Film Fan 21:38, 17 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continual disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. — Film Fan 23:28, 17 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you disrupt Wikipedia. I have told you before to stop removing hyphens where they are required. If you can't learn how to use them, you should stop editing entirely. To be quite clear, when it's an adjective you use the hyphen. When it's a noun you don't. So, an African-American athlete is an African American. In the first instance, it's an adjective; in the second, it's a noun. You will be blocked if you keep ignoring this. — Film Fan 13:02, 19 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Hong Kong Americans, you may be blocked from editing. ~ Abelmoschus Esculentus (talk to me) 03:40, 24 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop adding unsourced content, as you did on Virgil van Dijk. This violates Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Mattythewhite (talk) 23:28, 28 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in American English, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. See WP:ORDER BilCat (talk) 05:29, 19 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

I noticed your recent edit to Kashmiris does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Tick Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! Anonymous users from this IP address have been blocked from editing for a period of 1 year for persistently making disruptive edits.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 02:18, 27 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
If this is a shared IP address and you are an uninvolved editor with a registered account, you may continue to edit by logging in.

I've blocked you for another year. This is because you've continually refused to communicate or discuss issues related to your edits. Please make an unblock request that acknowledges communication is required and you will follow community guidelines. If you do this, any admin is free to unblock you without consulting me. One year later

[edit]

Pinging GiantSnowman, Wtmitchell, Deb, NinjaRobotPirate who have blocked the IP in 2018 and 2020, and the last block was for an year. I just reverted an edit at William Fox (producer) and checked the other contributions. User is prolific and making edits every few minutes. No edit summary on any edit. A casual look at some edits indicates the edits are of no use, like adding spaces on both sides of the pipe character in citations. Plus detrimental edits like replacing proper wikilinks with piped links. Jay (Talk) 17:05, 25 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Jay: blocked for a further year, if you can undo the edits please? GiantSnowman 17:07, 25 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
He had resumed on Jun 4 and there are 348 edits, of which 9 were already reverted. How do we go about it? There could be useful edits. Jay (Talk) 17:13, 25 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Well, you are right, there are some useful edits. I don't have the answer. Deb (talk) 07:43, 26 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Why is this IP address hard blocked? How did you assess collateral damage? NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 18:03, 25 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
