Hello. How can I help you? Henrik 22:00, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Abdalla 22:04, 5 April 2006 (UTC)Abdalla AAbdalla 22:04, 5 April 2006 (UTC) Do I have to sign my name like this every time I want to type something?[reply]

Yep. But if you get tired of typing ~~~~ all the time, there's a nifty button above the edit window that can do it for you (third one from the right, kind of looks like a signature). Also, signatures are usually placed at the end of a comment, like this: ~~~~ (which inserts this: Henrik 22:10, 5 April 2006 (UTC))[reply]

Ok thank you for clearing that up for me. I had another few questions. Starting off, what does it mean when you are asked to cite something.--Abdalla 22:13, 5 April 2006 (UTC)Abdalla--Abdalla 22:13, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It means that someone has requested that you provide a reference to the material you're adding. Wikipedia requires that all articles be verifiable, which means sources must be provided. You can read more about that here. Another tip, you only need to insert your signature once. Henrik 22:17, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ok thanks again, I will only use my signature once. Another question I had is what if you made a perfect article and someone out of stupidity decides he'll "edit" the page but instead, erase everything, will your previous work be automatically saved?--Abdalla 22:29, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. Though no article is perfect, if someone deletes content or vandalizes, the old version can be restored. You can check the history of an article by clicking on the history tab, next to "edit this page". Henrik 22:31, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. Another question I have to ask is how do you exactly insert an image? I did not really understand the given guidelines.--Abdalla 22:38, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Have you read the picture tutorial? Henrik 22:42, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much, that really helped, and that was the last of my questions today, if I ever need help again of cousre I will just post it. I guess you just need some experience with Wikipedia to really understand its function. Bye.--Abdalla 22:57, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No problem! Happy editing! Henrik 23:09, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image Tagging for Image:Darth maul.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Darth maul.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. How can I help? Computerjoe's talk 20:24, 16 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If I decide to make an article and I wasn't finished completing it, after I have saved and logged out could someone decide to edit even though I wanted the article to be composed only by me.--Abdalla 20:27, 16 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The beauty of the Wikipedia is that everything get's improved by their creator's peers. However, you could use a personal sandbox, such as User:Abdalla A/Sandbox to draft it in. Your final version will always exist in the page's history, though. Computerjoe's talk 20:31, 16 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ok thank you for clearing that up.--Abdalla 20:33, 16 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Please do not delete or edit legitimate talk page comments, as you did at Talk:United States; this is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. GDonato (talk) 21:15, 19 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Talk:United States

[edit]

May I ask, why are you removing sections of Talk:United States? Are you placing these sections in an archive? Gimmetrow 21:16, 19 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

    • OK, removing ended threads is fine, but in case other editors would like to read them later (to know what issues have come up in the past and been addressed), you should move those discussions to an archive page. Create a new one (#25) if you wish. Gimmetrow 21:26, 19 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of talk comments

[edit]

Do not remove other people's talk comments from article pages, as you did to Talk:United States. This is considered vandalism. This is only allowed if the comments are obvious vandalism, making personal attacks or they are being properly archived in the talk pages archives. Ben W Bell talk 21:16, 19 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Just because the problems discussed are resolved doesn't mean they should be removed, they should remain for record. There is no reason to remove them. Ben W Bell talk 21:23, 19 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, dear Abdalla - but is there any reason to the purging of comments from Talk:United States that you're making? Regards, Phaedriel - 21:16, 19 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I would archive them if I were you, see WP:ARCHIVE if you think the page is becoming long. GDonato (talk) 21:23, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
Ditto, thanks for clarifying that, dear Abdalla - I also recommend archivingthem instead next time. If you need help with archiving old discussions, just let me know and I'll happily explain it to you. Have a nice day, Phaedriel - 21:26, 19 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. I've created Talk:United States/Archive 25 for you. Generally, it's easier if you archive a large group of threads at once, but if you wish to remove other completed threads one-at-a-time, you can copy-and-paste them to the end of that archive. Gimmetrow 21:47, 19 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Edit Summaries Lacking.

[edit]

When editing, especially high profile articles such as United States, please leave edit summaries. That is the recommended practice. Gaff ταλκ 21:39, 19 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not delete links to other articles on Wikipedia, as you did to United States. Your edits appear to be vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use Wikipedia:Sandbox for test edits. Thank you.

Iraq map

[edit]

Hi, Abdalla! It's fairly simple, actually. First of all, you'll need a blank map of the governorates of Iraq. If you can't find a ready map, you can edit any free map, like what I did. Look for maps in Wikipedia or just edit the CIA World Factbook map. After you've got the map, you need to start a labelled map template. You can just follow the pattern of what I did in the Syrian governorates template. I just found a template for Iraqi football clubs, {{Iraq football labelled map}}. You can use the same map, and modify the links and positions. You'll need this tool for that. It gets really easy now. Just use the tool and copy the code, create the template, and place it wherever you like. On a side note, it's good to see another Arab-speaking user around here. Feel free to ask for more help if you're lost. All the best, Anas talk? 22:05, 4 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You need Java2 SE (Google it) to run it. —Anas talk? 10:24, 8 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
